Standard Product Warranty

  With the exception of consumables (batteries, fuses, probes, etc.), General Technologies Corp. (GTC) warranties the product against defects of material or workmanship which develop within a period (unless expressly specified) of one (1) year after the date of purchase by the original owner. Proof of date of purchase may be required when applying for repair or replacement under this warranty. For this reason, we strongly suggest that the proof of sale (i.e. sales receipt) is keep in a safe place for the period of validity of the warranty.

  In the event a flaw develops in the product, you may return it to the dealer or retailer you purchased the product from or, contact GTC directly to obtain shipping instructions and a RGA number. GTC will either repair or replace the tool (at GTC's discretion) free of charge providing the product is still under warranty. If the warranty has expired, there will be a repair and a shipping charge payable to your dealer, retailer or GTC to have the unit repaired and re-calibrated and shipped back to you. When a unit has been repaired or replaced under warranty, the replacement unit will extend the warranty period of the original unit for six (6) months after the date of replacement or until the original warranty expires, whichever is the longest period.

  This warranty shall not apply to any problem, failure or damage caused by improper use or inadequate maintenance or care.

  GTC shall not be obligated to provide service under this warranty or to repair damage resulting from: attempts by unauthorized persons to repair or service the units, improper use, if there is evidence (in GTC's opinion) of an attempt to disassemble the product, or in case of altered or missing identification or warranty or serial number labels.

  Any implied warranties arising out of the sale of the product including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are limited in duration to the above mentioned one (1) year period, and GTC shall not be liable for loss of use of the product or other incidental damages, expenses or economic loss. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long implied warranties last or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.

Warranty claim procedure:

  1. Call (1-800-440-5582) or email (techsupport@gtc.ca) technical support before shipping back any product under warrant or for repair.

  2. If shipping form the USA, it is preferable to ship by prepaid USPS postal parcel. It is more economical and faster than UPS or FedEx because the simpler customs clearance procedures.

  3. If shipping form the USA, write in the envelope or Box: "Canadian product returned under warranty" and use declared value for customs of $ 20.00 or less.

  4. Write your name and phone number in the envelope, box or paperwork so we can contact you if we need to.
