GTC505 Update Available

If you’ve got a second-generation GTC505 (serial number greater than 23121500), this update can be applied to your tool. Please take a look at the (revised) update procedure before loading the update.

The latest version (downloadable via the link below) has a variety of improvements; here is a list of some of the recent changes:

  • 213F: Improved SPW signal-processing, especially on waste spark systems.
  • 213E: Improved COP signal-processing, especially in situations where dwell and burn shapes are similar.
  • 213D: Improved SPW signal acquisition for small sparks.
  • 213C: Bug-fixes.
  • 213B: Improved signal acquisition on all systems.
  • 213A: Changed compressed data output file type for ease-of-use and clarity.
  • 210A: Added ‘easy-update’ function, which allows user to copy update file into regular application filesystem, then trigger update.
  • 208A: A caption that tells you whether the Engine Ignition Analyzer is detecting sparks (but hasn’t locked on yet), and the much-requested ‘Parade’ view, which helps you compare sparks between cylinders, or across different RPM. We’ve also improved the tool’s signal processing, especially for coil-on-plug systems with relatively weak signals (such as pencil type modules).
